Wildlife Wanderers!
Welcome to Wildlife Wanderers, where we aim to inspire the next generation through nature connection and animal interaction in a family-friendly environment! Our program is not your typical nature play session.
From exploring Australian Indigenous culture to learning about recycling and reusing items, or focusing on our animals like Little Penguins, Tasmanian Devils, or Tree Kangaroos, there's always something exciting to discover. We also love to get you moving with activities like scavenger hunts and Zookeeper led tours, as well as jumping into science-related topics. Not to mention the ability to get hands on with our amazing education animals.
Wildlife Wanderers Program
Join our Wildlife team on Wednesdays or Fridays from 10am, for an exciting adventure of discovery. Diving into the wonders of nature and wildlife in engaging and educational ways! Together, let's spark a deep love for the environment and all the incredible animal species that call it home.

Colour in a Kangaroo Joey and pop them in a pouch you can wear around your neck.

MAIN ACTIVITY
Group activity:
Painting Kissing and Hissing booth signs for Valentine’s week.
SECONDARY ACTIVITY
Nature stamps:
Put paint on natural items and stamp on paper to create unique artworks.
ANIMAL EXPERIENCE
Blue Tongue Lizards.
LOCATION

WEEK THREE 12 FEB & 14 FEB
MAIN ACTIVITY
Building teepees made from Old Koala Branches.
SECONDARY ACTIVITY
Group walk to check out the animals in the Hissing and Kissing booths.
ANIMAL EXPERIENCE
Dingo at the Kissing Booth and Python at the Hissing booth.
LOCATION
Wombat Area or Outback Events Wing (weather dependent).
WEEK FOUR 19 & 21 FEB: Frogs themed session
MAIN ACTIVITY
Make a sticky tongue frog and catch some insects.
SECONDARY ACTIVITY

WEEK FIVE 26 & 28 FEB: Scavenger Hunt – Rainbow themed session
MAIN ACTIVITY
A scavenger hunt to find fruits and all the colours of the rainbow.
SECONDARY ACTIVITY
Colour in shapes marked with tape on the window with markers to create a stained-glass window effect
(using Wombat windows).
ANIMAL EXPERIENCE
Loki & Skittles – Rainbow Lorikeets
LITTLE ONES ZONE
Streamer bottles & colourful toys
BONUS ACTIVITIES
Rainbow fruit tasting (watermelon, mango, banana, pear, blueberries & grapes).

Meet a Mountain Pygmy Possum
BONUS ACTIVITIES
Collect natural items to make Wombat stew with next week.

Meet at the Fountain at the top of the park by 10.10am.
WEEK SEVEN: Wombat Stew themed session
WEEK EIGHT: Water, Mud and Goop – get messy
WEEK NINE: Parrot theme with mini flight show at 11am
