Wildlife Education
Our Wildlife Education Programs at Gumbuya World offer curriculum-based, engaging experiences for students of all ages.
What sets us apart is our unique zookeeper-led approach!
Through interactive sessions and hands-on experiences led by real zookeepers, we aim to inspire action and foster a deeper appreciation for Wildlife.
Zookeeper-guided programs from early learning – year 6 run for approximately 60-90 minutes. Programs for secondary schools, tertiary students, and special education schools may run for up to 120 minutes. Following this time, students will have the opportunity to enjoy the free flight bird show or free-roam the Wildlife Trail, with over 70 incredible species to meet!
On the Wildlife Trail students will rotate between stations with various practical activities, each with a focus on respective strands from their curriculum or any other requested and relevant content.
Within our education programs a selection of the relevant curriculum strands will be covered by our inspiring Zookeepers. If you do wish to cover a particular topic, make sure to let us know upon booking so that it can be focused on during your excursion.

The Essential 3
Quality Experience
On the wildlife trail we strive to deliver engaging programs custom designed by our team, blending creative practical activities with animal interaction for high retention of information.
Hands On
Students will get to meet and interact with various amazing and friendly animals during their visit on the trail to help inspire them. At Gumbuya World we prioritise the safety of our animals above all else! Our selection of highly trained interact-able animals are equipped to handle hands on activities with our guests with the lowest risk to their physical and mental wellbeing.
Our Special Ingredient
Our most important component of our programs, the glue that brings everything together, are the Zookeepers themselves! They are the ones who manage these sessions and pass on their baton of passion for wildlife to the students, as well as helping to prioritise the health of the animals during the course of the programs.
