Students commence their Gumbuya Adventurer program with Wildlife Rangers learning to care
for animals in a fun-filled and educational day, using all their senses and enquiring minds to uncover animals unique features, lifecycles, intricate and fragile habitats, and what they need to survive in our amazing world. Student will have opportunities to feed animals in our Kangaroo and Wallaby Walkthrough and become part of a flock in the aviary. Students are further
challenged to explore and advocate for endangered species. Rangers will discuss the Traditional owners of the land and applicable aspects of their culture.
ADVENTURERS will learn:
• How to identify ways they can help wildlife survive in the environment and how our actions affect them.
• How to living things can be grouped on the basis of observable features and can be distinguished from non-living
things
• Why different living things have different life cycles and how they depend on each other and the environment to
survive
• How to identify the main climates of the world and the similarities and differences between the climates of different
places
