Hey GW community 👋🏼 We are so excited to share with you the safe arrival of our baby koala! The first little joey born and bred right here at Gumbuya World. 🐨🌏 Whilst they were officially born around 9 months ago they have been in mum Willow's pouch until now.
We can’t wait for you to meet this little one as soon as we get the green light to reopen.
On that note we just want to add that as a business of only 2.5 years old we have not enjoyed closing our doors.
It has meant that we have had to miss out on seeing families having fun, weddings being postponed and school kids missing out immersive educational experiences.
We are waiting in anticipation just like everyone else for some confirmed timings on re-opening which is why we are unable to advise on your annual passes just yet.
Please rest assured that if you have an annual pass you will be contacted prior to our gates re-opening with all the details you need to make up for lost time!
It looks like the Gumbuya gates will remain closed for now but don’t worry we won’t be far.
Just open up your computer screen and you can find us!
Gumbo and our Rangers will be on site to care for our feathered, furry and fanged friends so be sure to keep an eye out for our live videos, Wildlife feeds, Q & A’s plus much more.
(psst. as we don’t quite know when things will settle we’ll come back to you on opening dates and annual passes as soon as we can)

RE-OPENING ON HOLD
Here at Gumbuya World the safety of our staff, guests, wildlife and community remain our number one priority.
As a result of the recent spike in cases around Victoria and our neighbouring suburbs we have made the tough but necessary decision to hold our re-opening this weekend.
Over the last few months our team have been busy preparing the park to ensure we comply with covid safe practises including signage, hygiene stations and training to name a few.
We are just as disappointed, as you may be, that we will not be able to open our doors and that our plans to provide a fun space for families will be put on hold.
Originally, when we made our decision to open two weeks ago restrictions were moving in a positive trajectory however the events of the last week have changed rapidly. With so much unknown heading into a peak period, being the school holidays, we want to play our part in keeping the community as safe as possible.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we prioritise any bookings for this weekend.
We remain optimistic that this is only a temporary wave and will not rule out re-opening before the end of the school holidays, however we will not be able to confirm until closer to date.
We cannot deny that this is a big challenge for our beloved park but as a team we feel positive that we can get through this together and come back bigger and better!
You will be the first to know when we have a new re-opening date.
Thank you for being a loyal Gumbuya guest.
Stay safe - Gumbuya World 🌊🐨🎢
